LAHORE - The monitoring system in Agriculture Department has been totally failed to check its officers performance towards the betterment of agriculture and farmers, as rising prices of agri inputs are out of farmers purchasing power and therefore it is right time for farmers to come forward and make a strategy to get their rights regarding facilities, inputs provided by the department.

Kisan Board Pakistan General Secretary Malik Ramzan Rohari said this in a meeting of Kisan Board Pakistan s southern Punjab. He said and claimed that officers are working at their own will while ignoring the problems of the farmers as Federal government has abolished the ministries but departments working without the ministers.

He said that farmers have cultivated the cotton crop but no one in market is ready to pay the reasonable price for cotton produce.

He opined that government should put ban on transportation of fertilizers at Tehsil level instead of checking the dealers because price of urea is increasing speedily owing to the failed monitoring system of the Agriculture Department.
