NWFP Govt allocate Rs35.710m for minorities

The NWFP Assembly has earmarked Rs.35.710 million for the 10 developmental projects for the minorities, which include 5 on-going and 5 new projects.
Presenting the annual budget for fiscal year 2009-10, Senior Minister NWFP Rahimdad Khan said that the Provincial government was making all out efforts to protect the rights of the minorities and provide all facilities to them.
He said that the minorities were playing a vital role in the economic development and progress of the Province.
Senior Minister said that Rs. 5 million has been earmarked in the budget 2009-10 for construction of residential colonies for the minorities while Rs.5 million has been allocated in the budget to provide skill development training to the minorities.
He told the house that the provincial government has taken number of steps for the protection of the rights and development of the minorities in the light of the Constitution of Pakistan.
