KARACHI - The spokesman of Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) said that banks have not postponed payment for Sindh Sales Tax on Services for the month of July, advising the tax payers to pay their tax of July by today, August 25, 2011..
The spokesman stated that last date of payment of Sindh Sales Tax on Services for the month of July is 25th August and all service providers including banks, insurance, telecommunication companies and others are legally required to pay Sindh Sales Tax on services for the month of July 2011 to Government of Sindh by 25th August, 2011, failing which they would be violating the `1` provisions of Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011 and rules and penal actions as per law.
On the issue of delegation of powers to Federal Government regarding five services, the spokesman made it clear that matter is under consideration with the Sindh Government and so far no decision has been made.. The spokesman reminded that as per decisions of the 7th NFC award, the tax on services is a provincial domain as per article 142 (c) and entry 49 of Federal legislative list of the Constitution and Federal Excise Duty cannot be applicable on sale and purchase of services in a provincial jurisdiction.
