Hurdles in cotton export to be removed: Zardari assures PCGA

President Asif Ali Zardari has assured the delegation of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) headed by its chairman Amanullah Qureshi that all obstacles in the export of cotton would be removed to earn maximum foreign exchange besides safeguarding the interest of the growers.

The President listened the grievances of the ginners patiently and assured that the rate of interest would be reduced for the procurement of raw-cotton and loan limits would be enhanced keeping in view the market rates.

The President said that the government was developing a cotton ginning research institute to meet their outstanding demands and special funds would be released for this purpose.Amanullah Qureshi had drawn the attention of President Asif Ali Zardari towards the upcoming bumper crop of the cotton, which would not be less than 18 million bales and said that the government should ask the Trading Corporation of Pakistan to stay in market as an alternate buyer.
