Al-Mizan Foundation to help lawyers, judiciary staff: CJ

Islamabad (Online): Chief Justice Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary has said that Al-Mizan Foundation should speed up its welfare function through out the country with the aim to help lawyers and lower staff of judiciary at their difficult time.

He was presiding over the joint meeting of Advisory Board and the Committee of Administration Al-Mizan on Sunday.

The Chief Justices of Federal Shariat Court, Balochistan High Court, Islamabad High Court, Peshawar High Court and Lahore High Court, Chairman and Members of the Committee and Registrar Supreme Court attended the meting .

CJP said that Al-Mizan Foundation is a welfare body of Pakistan judiciary set up on all Pakistan basis for the welfare of the beneficiaries and to establish, run and set up organizations, institutions and projects for the said purpose.

He said that beneficiaries are those citizen of Pakistan who have served or serving in the Subordinate Judiciary, the establishments of Superior and Subordinate Courts including their dependents and that of deceased beneficiaries.

Better management and administration of affairs of the Foundation, demand honest and sincere efforts so as to achieve the real purpose and object of the Foundation i.e. the welfare of the beneficiaries specially deserving employees of the judiciary.

He said that this is a noble task entrusted to us for a noble cause and it depends on all of us that every effort is made to honour the trust. In spite of its meagre and limited resources the Foundation is taking all necessary steps and extending all possible help and benefits to the needy and deserving beneficiaries and agenda of this meeting is also manifestation .
