ISLAMABAD: Reposing full confidence in Law Minister Farooq H Naek, the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Thursday demanded rejection of all recommendations, which were against law, interests of the masses and the CNG sector. In a statement Chairman Supreme Council APCNGA, Ghiyas Abdullah Piracha claimed that the government had not refused to reduce gas prices and taxes imposed on the CNG sector during the meeting of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) sub-committee held to resolve the CNG pricing issue.

The association had demanded reduction in gas price and taxes while the representatives of the ministries of petroleum and finance did not refuse it, he added. Rather, the officials representing the two ministries had assured to look into the matter sympathetically and do their best to settle the issue, he said. He said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had presented during the meeting three CNG pricing formulas to the head of the committee. Ghiyas Piracha said the CNG-petrol price link was not discussed in the session as it was not on the agenda and claimed that linking the CNG price with petrol and three pricing formulas by OGRA was violation of the rights of the consumers and the Supreme Court decision.
