Awareness of traders on e-filing of returns urged

Islamabad: Chief Commissioner-Inland Revenue, RTO Islamabad, Muhammad Riaz said that they have streamlined the procedure of computerised records and e-filings.

There is need to educate small traders on e-filing of returns that would encourage voluntary compliance as well as control the growing cost of compliance.

He said this during the meeting with Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) President Zafar Bakhtawari. Commissioners-IR Ms. Shahar Bano Walajahi, Ali Hasnain, Additional Commissioners-IR Waseen Altaf, Adnan Inam Ullah, and Deputy Commissioner-IR Amir Javaid were also present on the occasion.

Muhammad Riaz has said that procedures have been streamlined by computerised records and e-filings. The chief commissioner RTO said that small taxpayers unaware about the legal and technical terms of the tax levied and its related rules and procedures, therefore many programmes are being initiated for educating small and medium taxpayers about the basics of taxation laws. He added that they are always willing to facilitate business community especially small traders.
