BBH warned to pay gas bills by 20th

RAWALPINDI - Sui Gas Department has asked the Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) to pay gas bills of Rs9.2 million till November 20. According to sources, the gas department has warned the BBH to pay the bills till due date otherwise gas connection of the hospital would be disconnected. The doctorsí and staff colonies also use gas from the same connection.

A resident of Rawalpindi, namely Muhammad Akbar, had filed a complaint in the Anti-Corruption Department about corruption in the use of gas in the hospital and investigations on the complaint are underway.

Moreover, In-charge and Principal of Rawalpindi Medical College, Dr Musaddiq also made a committee comprising three senior doctors, which is also looking into the matter of corruption in the use of gas in the hospital and staff colony. When contacted, the principal also confirmed the news of corruption in the use of gas.† Sources in the hospital said that the doctors,† using the gas from the hospital gas connection paid very little for it.

, which increased the difference between the bill and the money recovered.

Senior doctor of the hospital, Dr Fouzia, who also looked after the affairs of the building, refused to comment when contacted.
