BHAKKAR City News: Commissioner for purchasing wheat directly from farmers

BHAKKAR: Sargodha Division Commissioner Shaukat Ali has said that a transparent procedure will be adopted to purchase wheat from farmers.

Talking on phone on Sunday, the commissioner said that maximum wheat would be purchased directly from farmers instead of middleman or dealers. In this connection, centres food coordinators had been appointed on purchasing centres in the division, he informed. He said that the concerned DCO would be responsible for purchase of wheat.

He said that the target of purchasing wheat was 336,500 tons this year and 36 purchasing centres had been established including 13 in Sargodha district, 14 in Bhakkar district, six and three in Mianwali and Khushab districts respectively. The official rate of 40kg wheat had been fixed as Rs 1,200, he added.
