CDA gets 24 water tankers repaired

Islamabad   Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz on Thursday paid a surprise visit to the Machinery Pool Organisation (MPO) to check progress on repair of water tankers.

 

On the occasion, the chairman was apprised that following completion of repair of water tankers, thirty additional bouzers would be available to distribute water to the residents of the capital.

 

He directed Director General (Electrical and Mechanical) Shahid Sohail to complete repair and maintenance work on the remaining water tankers at the MPO Workshop.

 

The CDA chairman also directed the official to further improve the system of provision of petrol and diesel to vehicles of the authority, adding that irregularities in the system would not be tolerated. He further directed the concerned official to take effective measures in purchase of diesel and petrol on daily basis in a transparent manner with accurate record.

 

The CDA chairman directed the director general (electrical and mechanical) for early completion of necessary repair and maintenance of light and heavy machinery in the workshop, adding that he would visit the MPO in a few days to review detailed progress. He also directed D G (E&M) to ensure the attendance of all workers in MPO as this is one of the most important organisations of the CDA. He asked for a systematic record of repair and maintenance of machinery at the workshop on daily basis.

 

The MPO has handed over 24 water tankers to the CDA Water Supply Directorate after repair, maintenance and change of tyres.

 

Later, CDA Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz, on complaints lodged by the residents, visited Warsak Road in Sector I-9 and directed the concerned formations of the authority for immediate repair of the broken footpath.
