Clifton grid station to get new transmission line

Karachi: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has announced that a new 132kV double circuit overhead transmission line would be installed at the Clifton grid station, significantly improving the reliability of the supply system to the areas connected to it.
Currently the Clifton grid station is supplied power through a single circuit temporary arrangement from the Mai Kolachi gantry. The Clifton grid station will be shutdown from 8:00am in the morning to 6:00pm in the evening on Tuesday (tomorrow), for the installation of the new transmission line.

The areas affected by the shutdown will be: Clifton Block Nos 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8; Frere Town, Bath Island, Delhi Colony, Keamari, and Shirin Jinnah Colony.

The KESC also announced that the feeders supplying power to strategic locations and sensitive connections falling in the affected areas would be back-fed from alternate sources during the shutdown.
