LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Environment Protection Col. (retd) Shuja Khanzada on Thursday announced to form a two-member committee to resolve the environmental issues being faced by the industry.

 

The minister was speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). He said that the environment department would promote economic activities in the province. “The arbitration committee would soon be constituted to strengthen the liaison between the department and the private sector,” he added.

 

Speaking on the occasion, LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar called for withdrawal of the notices that are creating harassment among the business community. “The private sector, alone, cannot establish a treatment plant as it is a costly project,” he said. “Thus, the government should extend cooperate in this regard.”
