Ziarat Residency restoration: The Balochistan government has initiated restoration of Quaid-e-Azam Residency in Ziarat, with which the nation has emotional attachment, from its own resources

The impression created by a section of media that Sadaruddin Hashwani was doing this job is not based on facts. “The provincial government praises Hashwani’s spirit he manifested for restoring the residency building which is a national monument,” a spokesman for the Balochistan government said.

The provincial government has constituted a committee, headed by former Balochistan chief secretary Mirza Qamar Baig, to finalise steps for restoration of the building to its original shape.

The committee also consists of well known architects, engineers and experts of national heritage like Nayyar Ali Dada, Ms Yasmin Lari and Kamil Khan Mumtaz. They have volunteered their services for this national cause.

The restoration committee has sought prequalification of contractors from all over the country.

Nayyar Ali Dada and Kamil Khan Mumtaz have recently visited Ziarat and reviewed the situation. They have put forth their suggestions for restoration of the residency to the provincial government. The government has started taking practical steps in the light of the recommendations.
