Interim PM directs ministries to overcome power shortfall

ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Caretaker Prime Minister justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, admonishing the Ministers for Finance, Water and Power and Petroleum, has directed to take prompt actions to overcome the ongoing energy crises.

According to a private TV channel here on Monday, Caretaker Prime Minister convened a high level meeting on energy crises and Ministers for Finance, Petroleum and Water and Power and other higher authorities participated in the meeting.

Minister for Water and Power briefed the Prime Minister about the duration of load shedding as there is duration of 14 hours in urban areas and 18 hours in rural areas and the ministry further apprised the caretaker Prime Minister that if the ministry was not paid, there may be more shortfalls of 800 mega watts.

PM admonished the authorities of the ministries and ordered to provide 22.5 billions without any delay to overcome power shortfall prevailing in the country.

He said that it is responsibility of caretaker government to provide relief to the masses till establishing the new government.

Mir Hazar Khan Khoso said that there is need of one billion rupees to increase production of electrical power; meanwhile, PM ordered to speed up the recoveries, adding that one billion per day recovery should be made to overcome the energy crises.
