IPO to set up resource centre

KARACHI: Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) of Pakistan in association with Brands Foundation will establish IP Resource Centre at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to increase awareness about intellectual property and provide necessary technical and legal assistance in IP registration, said a statement issued Monday.


Through this resource centre, businessmen and industrialists of every level will be provided with the necessary information about IP laws and the benefits of having IP registration at national and international levels.

Furthermore, matters related with IP licensing and registration will be handled on priority basis, said Tariq Feroze, director general of IPO Pakistan. He was addressing as a chief guest at the first national IP convention organised by Brands Foundation in collaboration with FPCCI and IPO Pakistan held at FPCCI last week.

During the convention, former president of Saarc Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tariq Sayeed urged the prime minister and concerned authorities of IPO Pakistan to ensure representation of business community and bureaucrats in the IPO policy board. He demanded a FPCCIs representative should be a permanent member of the policy board.
