KESC man shot dead in Surjani

KARACHI : A young employee of the Karachi Electric Supply Company was sprayed with bullets in Surjani on Thursday night, police said.


They added that Sohail Yusuf was shot dead in Sector-5-B. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where a medico-legal officer said that the victim sustained 11 bullets on different parts of his body.


“Sohail was an employee of the KESC,” said Surjani SHO Shabbir Ahmed. He added that the victim was wearing KESC uniform when he was attacked.


Meanwhile, a land dispute between relatives claimed one life in Pirabad, police said.


They added that Sabirullah was shot dead over the plot dispute. His mother, Majida Bibi, and uncle Inamullah also received bullet injuries in the firing. The victims were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the police said.


Body found in Defence


The body of an elderly man was found in the Khayaban-i-Muhafiz area in Defence, Phase-VI, on Thursday, the police said.


The man was identified as 65-year-old Stephen Sanwal hailing from Multan, the police added.


They said that some people threw his body from their car in the locality late on Wednesday. The police approached his family in Multan. The victim’s daughter said she wanted to get a post-mortem examination done on his father’s body in her presence and she was coming to Karachi. Therefore, the body was taken to the Edhi morgue.
