KARACHI: Human Rights Network (HRN) has criticised the malpractices of Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) and demanded NEPRA and other concerned authorities to save consumers from injustices. HRN Karachi President Intikhab Alam Soori in a statement said, revenue protection cell of KESC is fleecing citizens and the line losses due to ‘Kunda’ connections are extorted from honest bill paying consumers, while KESC takes no action against thieves.

He said the number of Kunda connections in government buildings is rising but KESC takes no action. Soori demanded of the federal government of Nawaz Sharif save consumers from its atrocities. He also demanded to end KESC monopoly on power supply and to allow others, especially private entities to create healthy competition necessary to protect the rights of consumers. ppi
