Khattak Ittehad threatens to observe strike on 17th

KARAK: Khattak Ittehad and other organisations of traders and civil society on Sunday announced to observe complete shutdown and wheel-jam strike on April 17 against shifting of the proposed oil refinery from Karak to the Kohat district. Chairing the meeting of the organisation, Maulana Mirzaqeem and others termed the decision a question of life and death for the Khattak tribe. They blasted the caretaker government and threatened to stop the supply of crude oil to other areas if the refinery was not established in the district.

The participants said they had already given land for the construction of oil refinery in Krappa area of the Karak.The meeting unanimously decided to observe complete shutdown and wheel-jam strike on April 17 to register anger over the discriminatory treatment with the dwellers of the district.
