NIP, KESC sign MoU

KARACHI: National Industrial Park Management Company (NIP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Karachi Electric Supply Company for the supply of four megawatt power to the NIP for meeting the initial requirement of Bin Qasim Industrial Park (BQIP), a statement said.

When the power consumption at BQIP will increase, the NIP will construct its own grid station and the KESC will also increase power supply after an appropriate arrangement.

Mohsin Syed, chief executive officer at NIP, said that the BQIP will be a game changer for the new industrial landscape of the metropolis. It will play an important role in creating employment for the Karachiites, besides generating a huge chunk of revenue to the government exchequer. Speaking about KCIP project, he said that five companies have already started the construction of their manufacturing plants on the lands allotted to them, while three others were all set to break ground.
