ISLAMABAD: Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui Minister Petroleum has appealed to the nation for helping create awareness regarding curbing the menace of sabotage on gas pipelines across the country. Unfortunately in April 2013, eleven incidents of sabotage/terrorist attacks on pipelines have taken place, which has resulted in gas supply disruption from some of the sources due to which our utility companies could not supply gas to their customers.

Wajahat while monitoring the situation closely has issued instructions to the managing directors of the respective companies to take appropriate measures for maintaining gas supply.
Teams were dispatched for immediate repair of the damaged pipelines on each occasion, which successfully resumed gas supply while working at odd hours and in arduous security circumstances. Three teams are working simultaneously to restore gas supply, thus resulting in resource constraints.

Ministry of Petroleum reiterates its commitment to maintain continuous supply of energy resources to the masses and in this regard was taking proactive actions in coordination with all stakeholders.
