Port Qasim handles 46,451 tons of cargo

Port Qasim handled a cargo volume of 69,059 tons during the last 24 hours that included 66,098 tons of imports and 2,961 tons of exports, Port Qasim Authority reported on Monday.

 

Accordingly, the port handled imports, including edible oil (6,450 tons), furnace oil (33,451 tons), iron ore (14,899 tons) and containerised cargo (11,298 tons). It handled exports, including containerised cargo (2,961 tons).

 

Berth occupancy was measured at 45 percent at the port on Monday, the Port Qasim Authority said.It said that it moored one ship during the last 24 hours, which was carrying containers.With this, a total of five ships loaded and offloaded containers, cement, containers, iron ore, furnace oil and edible oil. Those five ships were Maersk Denver, MV Faith, Pearl’s of Jebel Ali, MT Quetta and Golden Ambrosia, it said.

 

Besides, another four ships, carrying containers, cement and edible oil, also arrived at the outer anchorage of the port during the last 24 hours.Ships parked at the outer anchorage were MT Karachi, Flora, Theresa Libra, Sofia, Bunga Allium, Bowchem Antwerp, and Nysted Maersk, it reported.
