Port Qasim handles 88,984 tons of cargo

Port Qasim handled a cargo volume of 88,984 tons during the last 24 hours that included 71,884 tons of imports and 17,100 tons of exports, the Port Qasim Authority (PQA) reported on Monday.

 

Accordingly, the port handled imports, including furnace oil (35,384 tons), palm oil (4,430 tons), phosphoric acid (9,273 tons) and containerised cargo (22,800 tons). It handled exports, including containerised cargo (17,100 tons).

 

Berth occupancy was measured at 29 percent at the port on Sunday, the PQA reported.

 

It said that it moored three ships, CV MSC Clementina, MT Argent Theresa, and MT Lahore, carrying containers and furnace oil, during the last 24 hours.

 

With this, a total of four ships loaded and offloaded containers, phosphoric acid, palm oil and furnace oil.

 

Besides, another three ships, carrying containers and palm oil, also arrived at the outer anchorage of the port in the last 24 hours. The names of these ships are Donga Iris, Theresa Galaxy, and Maersk Pitts Burgh, it added.
