Port Qasim handles 97,335 tons of cargo

Port Qasim handled a cargo volume of 97,335 tons during the last 24 hours that included 17,199 tons of imports and 12,789 tons of exports, the Port Qasim Authority reported on Tuesday.

Accordingly, the port handled imports, including furnace oil (45,328 tons), edible oil (12,000 tons), chemicals (10.019 tons) and containerised cargo (11,199 tons). It handled exports, including containerised cargo (12,789 tons).

Berth occupancy was measured at 65 percent at the port on Tuesday, the Port Qasim Authority said.

It said that it moored three ships during the last 24 hours, which were carrying containers, chemicals and edible oil.

With this, a total of seven ships loaded and offloaded containers, cement, chemicals, iron ore, furnace oil and edible oil.

These seven ships were Nysted Maersk, MV Faith, MT Sofia, Atlantic Glory, MT Outrivaling, Lahore and Chem Road Lily, it said. Besides, another four ships, carrying containers, furnace oil and chemicals, also arrived at the outer anchorage of the port during the last 24 hours, it said.
