PR Minister for officers to adopt slogan ‘No rest, Just work...
LAHORE: Pakistan Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has urged the PR officers to adopt slogan "No rest, Just work".


Presiding over a high official meeting at PR Headquarters here on Sunday despite the holiday, he reviewed strategies for elimination and upgradation of unmanned level crossings, removal of hurdles on rail track, utilization of steel scrap and restoration of 150 locomotives on urgent basis.

The Minister directed the PR administration to discuss the matter of unmanned level crossings with the provincial governments and a comprehensive strategy should be formed to ensure the protection of the public.

Reviewing the situation of track from Karachi to Peshawar, he ordered the PR administration to form a strategy for removal of 87 obstacles at the track to ensure reduction of travel time.

The Minister looked into the matter of scrap and directed the chief controller of stores to inform him about the total quantity of available steel scrap and its value. He also directed the administration to study that whether the scrap could be sold to steel mills under barter system to buy new parts for the Railways.

Khawaja Saad issued directions to the project director locomotives to make strategy for urgent restoration of 150 locomotives.

General Manager Railways Junaid Qureshi, GM Infrastructure Ghulam Muhammad Qureshi, AGM Traffic Javaid Anwar and other senior officers were present.
