Protest held in Lahore against CNG crisis

LAHORE: On the appeal of Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Chairman Supreme Council of the All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA), the CNG Association Punjab Thursday staged a protest demonstration and blocked Motorway Link Road near Thokar Niaz Baig for an hour against suspension of the gas supply.

The protesters were led by All Pakistan CNG Association Punjab President Shuja

Anwar, Lahore President Samiuddin, office-bearers Majid Ansari, Irfan Ghouri and Alim Butt. Majeed Ghouri and Baghi Khan represented the rickshaw union while transport owners were represented by the Khokar Group.

The protesters blocked the Motorway link road, burned tyres and chanted slogans against illegal loadshedding of gas. The protesters included CNG operators, unemployed workers of CNG outlets, drivers, transporters, private vehicle owners and the masses. They demanded immediate removal of Dr Asim, adviser to PM, on energy due to his controversial decisions and changes in the CNG policy.
