Lesson from Disaster for Individuals as well as for Nation

The 8th October earth quake, in the northern Pakistan, was so severe that only a few have escaped from its cruel clutches. It has rendered hundred of thousands of people up rooted, homeless and many buried under debris of their houses. In such a chaotic situation, a very strong wave of passion, humanity and solidarity was observed among the nation that was never seen before. From Karachi to Khyber, each and every one seemed ready to donate generously. They donated clothes, medicine, food items, cash and even blood. From poor to rich, middle to salaried person; every body donated according to their status and capacity. According to one survey, the views that came up regarding this earthquake are grouped in to two, which are as under,
1 The people belonging to this group are of the view that, it is a wake up call from Almighty Allah and an indication from HIM that be on the righteous path, do good deeds, follow the religion and lead your life according to Quranic Injunctions and the ways ordained by Allah.
2 The people belonging to the second category are of the view that, this is a blessing in disguise from Almighty Allah and every act of Allah has some favor for man kind. This is totally true because if on one hand the earth quake has rendered thousands of people destitute and pauper and on the other, it has raised the spirit of solidarity which was never seen before. And the history shows us that if such moments are to be frozen, same can be treated as bench mark for durable and bright future.

We as a nation got independence in the name of Islam and wish to make our country a “Fort of Islam” as well. The nature also favors us in this regard. A country must possess economic and defence power in order to achieve the status of world power and consequently, if these are lacking, their aspirations will not come true. And it is nothing less than miracle that we have achieved an invincible defense power and now we wish to achieve supremacy on the economic front as well. Thanks to 9/11 incident, which has revolutionized our economy and has kicked off our journey of economic supremacy with double speed. However, still there are two things which hamper our journey to achieve economic supremacy and to become a fort of Islam in true sense of the words:
a Lack of National Unity
b Belittle the Importance of I.T –The Language of 21st Century.

Let us hope that the solidarity shown after the massive earth quake will be long lasting and not proved to be just storm in tea cup. Now we have to focus all energies of our good brain towards I.T education, if we wish to make Pakistan a world power and true Fort of Islam.
