Foreign Remittances, Telegraphic Transfers

In case of a telegraphic transfer, the following precautions have been taken to avoid and to continue the fight against money laundering:

  • To avoid any complication, no application of a TT from a minor is effective under the policy framework of KKI. In case, if it is a minor who wants to make a TT transaction, then the application form has to be filled by a major.

  • Every transaction will be made against complete information of the sender and the receiver.

  • No thumb impression will be accepted on the TT application form.

  • If the person applying for the TT is illiterate, he will be asked to fill in the TT form through some one else.

  • Without filling in the specific KKI TT application form, no transaction will be made.

  • It will be ensured that the TT form is properly filled and signed by the person applying for the same, all the required information is provided and written in the form.

  • Before making the transaction, it will be made sure that the sender has sufficient balance in the account of the bank against which he/she is drawing the cheque.

  • The transaction will be made only after the cheque is cleared from the bank.

  • Complete scrutiny of the form will be done before the final making of the TT transaction. The scrutiny will be done with respect to the full details of the sender, details of the receiver, details of the bank where is the fund is being sent, details of the bank account and amount in words and figures.

  • Instructions regarding the mode of payment will be specifically obtained that how the payment has to be made to the beneficiary and then through investigation of the same will be done by KKI on its own behalf.

  • The payment of the TT from the customer will be received against a computer generated Cash Memo. This Cash Memo will be given to the sender of the money to deposit his money at the counter.

  • A computerized register will be maintained to record the remittances through TT branches wise, banks and other exchange companies so that a record can be kept along with the company.

  • A separate record is maintained for each sender and accordingly an index is prepared.
