INTRODUCTION:
Exchange Plus is a web-based software solution for Exchange
Companies. It is a very comprehensive package designed to automate
all the processes of an Exchange Company.
The solution being web based is capable to work in a local network
i.e. intranet and as well as internet thereby making the system
ideal for multi-branch company. The various branches shall be able
to synchronize with the head office and hence the users of both
the head office and branch can access the system irrespective of
their location from anywhere around the world. A single
installation of the system at various branches shall enable a
large number of users to access the system
The package is based on a modular design and comprise of various
modules. An extremely robust, full-fledged and well-designed
Accounting System sits at the backend to create and maintain
respective accounts. All modules are heavily coupled with the
Accounting System.
Exchange Plus provides a Role Based Access Mechanism. Two
well-defined Areas namely: User Area and Administrator Area allow
only assigned personnel to access various modules/features.
Exchange Plus is currently in operation in the multi-branch setup
of:
KKI (Khanani and Kalia International, Exchange Company)
KKI works under the umbrella of Kalia Group, which is also the
parent company of KalSoft (Pvt) Ltd.
Exchange Plus has been designed and architected by people who are
in the currency exchange business for more than a decade. It is a
result of extensive research work, thorough domain knowledge,
pragmatic work approach and invaluable experience.
The software is extremely user-friendly and has a very short
learning/training curve for operators. Short cut keys,
Checks and
Balances at every stage, task confirmation messages and alerts
ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Exchange Plus is based on a hybrid architecture being both
Centralized and De-Centralized. A central database server at Head
Office is maintained while each branch system maintains its local
database as well. The branch system synchronizes its data at the
end of the day or on demand with the master database at Head
Office.
The solution provides excellent database connectivity,
painless maintenance, secure transaction handling, processing and
reports
generation and has an
extremely user friendly interface. The Head Office system can
monitor all branch level transactions and activities.
Along with the extensive MIS reports for the management, the
system also generates the requisite reports on prescribed formats
for the concerned authorities, for example SBP in Pakistan.
Moreover, business intelligence reports and pictorial
representations of various reports provide a very strong feature
for analyzing the overall status as well as supporting strategic
decision making.
It is developed on a three tier architectural model. Presentation
tier is on Java Server Pages and HTML, Business tier on Enterprise
Java Beans (EJB), Object Relational Bridge (OJB), Java Database
Connectivity (JDBC) and Database tier on SQL Server.
Security Mechanisms is based on User Id \ Password and
Role based
Access mechanism. A particular user can only use those features
of the system which have been assigned to him by the
Administrator. Furthermore all sensitive information during
transmission is encrypted and is well secured. The J2E
architecture used provides strong security mechanisms. |
