In each and every organization, there is a proper system of
whole function and such a working system is always adopted as
per prevailing laws for specific responsibility for each
function. No doubt each department in an organization has its
own importance but in order to run the whole working system
smoothly, the Human Resource Department has to perform a vital
role.
Let us see, why Human Resource Department is an important part
of an organization and what are its functions?
In this regard, first of all, it will not be out of place to
mention here that workforce is main factor for establishing an
organization and till the working hands are not available, the
objectives can not be achieved.
Through the prescribed policies and procedures, HRD selects the
right persons for right job and with their help take the
organization to the correct direction of working systems. HRD
lays out the guidelines for further betterment of the
organization, which are followed by its employees.
Since KKI has been transformed to an international company,
therefore, the management aims to adopt all working procedures
of the company systematically as per prevailing laws, SBP rules
& regulations and present business environment. As the HR Policy
has recently been introduced in the company to run the whole
function systematically, the Human Resource Department of KKI is
actively performing as per the HR Policy; this unit is trying
its best to get the proper systems implemented in all the
departments of the organization.
Initially, HRD made an ORGANIZATION CHART to show that how the
employees are linked together in the company and to make them
aware that which communication channel is used to reach them.
The HRD of KKI is taking necessary
steps in the following jobs:
1. Fore-casting staffing needs for the company
2. Recruiting staff
3. Interviewing and selecting staff
4. Planning staff training programs
5. Keeping staff records
6. To implement the disciplines / Co, Rules & Regulations
HR department takes initiatives to recruit right persons for
right jobs and selects competitive candidates by virtue of their
qualification, skills, effective communication and work
management skills, honesty etc. The HR also encourages its
existing and senior staff to provide proper training to the
newly hired employees recruited for their respective
departments.
There is also a clear objective for
training of employees in KKI. Through HR department, training
covers many different needs & it is being arranged to:
1. Introduce new processes within organization
2. Increase skills and knowledge of the staff
3. Change People’s attitude
4. Improve efficiency of the workforce through various
motivational tools
5. Provide training for the non-skilled workers to make them
more valuable for the company
6. Improve the opportunity for internal promotion
There are three main types of training, which HRD in KKI is
planning:
1. Induction training: an introduction is given to a new
employee, explaining the firm’s activities, procedures and
introducing them to their employees.
2. On the Job-training is gained through experience or informal
instruction from a lead or supervisor.
3. Off job-training: employees are trained away from the work
place usually by the Specialist trainers.
HR department has a policy to delegate the powers to the
employees to perform the tasks, as this makes work more
interesting and rewarding as well. Where as, employees feel
their importance and believes that they are trusted to perform a
good job. Delegation helps to train workers so that they can
make progress in company. and it also gives them career
opportunities.
The performance appraisal are the check & balance system of the
employees, by which HR can determine the work efficiency,
skills, talent and also indicate the training needs for the
employees for further improvement.
