A
meeting between KKI and Kuwait Asian Exchange Company was held in KKI’s
corporate office on 21st September 2005. The delegation of Kuwait Asian
was led by Mr. Khalid Mahmood, (Executive Director) and Mr. Shabbir
Husain (Executive Manager Marketing & Business Development), whereas Mr.
Abdul Munaf Kalia (CEO) and Ms. Nadia Ansari (Manager Home Remittance
Department) represented KKI.
The meeting was conducted in a very constructive and cooperative
atmosphere, and generated informative discussions and ideas for future
activities.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Kalia, who welcomed Mr. Mahmood and Mr.
Husain and thanked them for their assistance in organizing the meeting.
In opening remarks, Mr.Abdul Munaf Kalia among other things noted that
Kuwait Asian Exchange is an active Exchange Company under the auspices
of the Kuwait-Pakistan remittance business/activity. He also welcomed
the progress made by the Kuwait Asian Exchange in implementing its
activities and increasing number of remittance messages. Mr. Kalia
further stated that it is necessary for both sides to set up a road map
of their activities for the coming years.
While discussing the forthcoming activities, Kuwait Asian Exchange
Company was eager to know about the future plans of KKI about the areas
where it has no branches. Mr. Kalia highlighted the next three years
plan and felt proud in declaring that in forthcoming years the network
of KKI will be extended significantly and the number of franchises will
also be doubled.
Mr. Kalia also focused that KKI is always in frontline to save Pakistan
from the curse of illegal modes of transaction of money. Moreover, he
discouraged Hawala and Hundi system, which is the major threat to the
economy and foreign exchange reserves of Pakistan. Mr. Kalia also
emphasized on the need of encouraging people of both countries to send
money through proper channel, as this is the safer and securer means of
transaction. This not only saves customers from every kind of hassle but
also contributes towards increasing nation’s over all foreign exchange
reserves and thus economic prosperity of the country.
Mr. Husain from Kuwait Asian Exchange in his remarks highly appreciated
the strong organizational setup of KKI and stated that the results of
this meeting will be mutually beneficial for both the organizations.
At the end of meeting the Kuwait Asian officials expressed their
appreciation to KKI officials for hosting the meeting and for the
excellent arrangements that ware made. While, KKI officials also
expressed their appreciation to the Kuwait Asian officials for their
visit, their informative presentations and their highly valuable
participation in the meeting. |
