Rupee remained under tremendous pressure against dollar amid heavy demand of US currency in the kerb last week. The greenback started off new week's trading at Rs.83/70, posted major grounds on the desk and was trading at Rs.84/45 at close of markets last Friday. Thus, rupee lost 0/75 paisas versus the American currency in the open market dealings.

The cable remained unchanged versus the national currency amid low demand in the kerb dealings. The British currency opened new week's trading at Rs.137/00 and due to lack of demand ended the week at the same price last Friday.

Euro posted losses versus rupee in the local market amid decline in its demand and its fall against dollar in the international market. The single currency kicked off new week's trading Rs. 124/00, shed grounds and was trading at Rs.123/70 at close of markets. Thus, rupee recovered 0/30 paisas versus euro in the kerb.
